This training is given to workers who perform specific assignments and tasks at heights.
One of the biggest contributors to fatal occupational accidents and one of the biggest contributors to absenteeism are related to working at height. So thorough training is very important for this.
The purpose of the safe working at height training course is to provide an understanding of the risks associated with working at height and to teach the appropriate practical skills necessary to perform (or have performed) work at height safely. The employer’s legal obligation to provide adequate information and training to employees is consistent with this.
During subsequent modules, both theoretical and practical attention will be paid to the use, erection or inspection of various scaffolds:
Module 1: use of scaffolding
This is a general (shorter theoretical) module that communicates the risks and hazards of working at height as well as what measures are possible to work safely.
Module 2: building scaffolding
This is a module elaborated to cover the various important aspects and teach skills to erect scaffolding correctly and safely.
Module 3: inspection of scaffolding
This module goes one step further and is elaborated to cover the various important aspects and teach knowledge to release and inspect erected scaffolds.
The following topics are covered, depending on the module, among others:
- Definitions
- Legislation: rights and duties, powers
- Risks and accidents working at height
- Collective and personal protective equipment
- Fall Protection
- LMRA / risk analysis
- Assembling and using scaffolding safely: do’s and don’ts
- Safe erection and use of scaffolding: load and force theory
- Inspection and release of scaffolding: points of interest and administration
The above modules can be combined and/or customized according to your needs. Ask us about the possibilities!
