Unfortunately, an incident can never be completely ruled out. This is why the law requires employers to hire and train emergency responders. This allows these individuals to assess the severity of an injury and also provide the necessary first aid in doing so.
Formaz has two quality, hands-on first aid courses on offer. We can organize these either at your site or at one of our locations.
1. First aid provider refresher (4 hours):
The following are part of the training. It focuses on the nature of possible injuries and injuries within your company:
Theory
- The 3 objectives are treated as in the legislation referred to art.9 second paragraph
- Emergency First Aid
- Wound Care
- Special emergency: the traffic accident
- Basic treatment for accidental bodily injury
- Postures, evacuation techniques
- Bleeding, bruising, fractures and dislocation.
- Guidelines specific conditions and care of specific injuries
- Disorders of vital signs
- AED/CPR
- Emergency Services
Practice
Practice is conducted interactively and purposefully with adequate didactic material. Again, the focus is on the nature of possible injuries and injuries within your company. The following topics will be covered:
- CPR: monitoring and treating disorders of vital signs
- Postures and evacuation techniques
- Wound Care
- Stopping bleeding: application of bandages
- Care of specific injuries
2. Basic first aid provider training (15 hours):
Basic First Aid training provides a complete foundation regarding first aid and how to respond when an emergency occurs.
After this training, an emergency responder can correctly assess and address accidents or health problems, possibly while waiting for professional assistance.
He or she will also ensure that an incident does not worsen or that the consequences are minimized. The rescuer becomes familiar with the composition of the first aid kit so that this person can also vouch for its close follow-up.
Following topics are covered both practically and theoretically:
- Approach to a (life-threatening) emergency situation
- Unconscious victim and stable side position
- CPR: monitoring and treating disorders of vital signs
- Specific techniques in various injuries
- Composition of first aid kit
- Teaching dressing techniques
- Evacuation techniques
- First aid for: burns, skin wounds, bleeding, shock, life-threatening and non-life-threatening situations, poisoning, head and spinal injuries, musculoskeletal disorders
Upon completion of this training course(s), a recognized certificate will be issued for each participant.
