What is a dump truck:
These dump trucks are used in construction and mining and transport minerals. There are also small models. The load capacity ranges from 1 to 120 tons. There are models with tracks and wheels. Being able to operate the brake function correctly is crucial in the larger models.
Content:
This training includes 3 hours of theory in group and 1 to 5 hours of practice per participant.
Theory:
- Summary of legislation
- Basic knowledge of ARAB, Codex, liabilities and responsibilities.
- Risks and accidents
- Be able to identify, analyze and control risks specific to the job and equipment and space.
- Safety regulations
- Explain the safety rules such as there are: only authorized persons may drive a dump truck, use personal protective equipment, is familiar with the dump truck (read the instruction book), always keep full attention to your work, knows the internal and public traffic rules.
- Tipping hazard dump truck, load, ROPS/FOPS
- Brakes
- Site safety, visibility and signage, fire hazards
- Driver requirements when driving dump truck on public roads
- Construction of the dump truck: controls, brakes, wheels, engine, tipping bucket – and mechanism
- Working with the dump truck
- Know the elements that make up the starting control.
Practice:
- Be able to perform daily dump truck inspection correctly, recognize dangerous defects and report them.
- Correctly mounting and dismounting
- Be able to use the controls correctly.
- Application of safety and traffic rules: defensive driving, interaction with people and other drivers.
